I simply wonder why I should care about Georgia. Why anyone feels we have to respond to Russia in any way what so ever and how this constitutes a comic about “A world view” Mhghh, whatever.
Tindog – I have made comments about Georgia not being innocent, but this is also a clear iron-fisted move by Putin. He has much to gain by taking back pipeline routes that run through the contested regions. (oh and quashing democracy)
Not too long ago the EU and NATO tabled NATO membership for Georgia because their president was considered a bit on the irrational side. Provoking a confrontation and expecting a rescue by the rest of the world just wasn’t prudent in the face of reality. And … once more Mr. Bush & co does credit to the US.
Yes, is funny, except that Bush and the US are not running away, who knows what they told Putin behind the scenes to get him to stop short of Georgia’s capital…
