I love Seagull’s pensive expression in the middle panel.

Wallace: “We’ll cover for Spud if it comes to that. We’ll still need someone expendable if we ever get stranded on a mountain top, looking for Yeti, and run out of supplies.”

Spud, go home. Not only do you move like molasses, you smell like hamburgers.

Depending on the circumstances, molasses can move fast enough to engulf land, houses, humans, and animals.

The Great Molasses Flood, also known as the Boston Molasses Disaster, occurred on January 15, 1919, in the North End neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts.

A large storage tank filled with 2.3 million U.S. gallons (8,700 cubic meters) of molasses, weighing approximately 13,000 short tons (12,000 metric tons), burst, and the resultant wave of molasses rushed through the streets at an estimated 35 miles per hour (56 kilometers per hour), killing 21 people and injuring 150. The event entered local folklore and residents claimed for decades afterwards that the area still smelled of molasses on hot summer days.

When I first glanced at the last panel, I thought Spud had fallen into the water and was climbing out.

OK, cows and deer have been known to eat animals that are too slow and are small enough so even an herbivore might be feeling peckish for some protein.

Huh!! I just noticed that there is a really good chance that Amelia and Wallace are cousins on his dad’s side…
