People live their “lives of quiet desperation”, peeping Tom-like into manufactured realities (TV, movies, books, etc), while ignoring or “escaping” their own wholly reparable lives. They’re our lives; we may do with them what we will. The question is whether we will live our own dream or someone else’s.
