Tech Support: “And, if this is Elvis again, please check the room on the other side of the wall behind the computer to see if you’ve hit anyone important.”

Old military computers had hundreds of parts and a rats nest of thousands of wires connecting wire wrap pins. Errors and upgrades made most wiring diagrams wrong, anyway.A tech had replaced all of the parts and the computer still didn’t work. One of the wires was broken or shorted to another pin but the computer’s status was technically repairable and couldn’t be exchanged. The tech had a “firing line accident”, changing the status to nonrepairable, and had it exchanged since it was critical to the operation.

Actually, back in the late 80’s there were reports of a gun shop that would let you bring in your old monitors and desktop towers, and set them up as targets in their firing range. When you were done, the shop gave you a baggie with the remaining parts as a souvenir.
