The third panel is constructed so that there MIGHT be further text above the word “Bar” which we can’t see. Perhaps it really IS a particular SORT of bar, and Rodney is struggling to acknowledge his true nature (as crunk suggests); the only way he can confront his longing (which dare not speak its name) is to shout it to an empty room. After all, Lady Gwen has been chasing after him for YEARS, yet he never seems to reciprocate her interest to any degree.
He really SHOULD try it when the place is open. His nose would make him very popular.
In the words of Bill Watterson for Sir Rodney’s case of wanting to pick a fight in a closed pub: “Right lesson, wrong time.”
The orgin of that was when Calvin yelled from the front door and his mother told him to stop that and tell her what he wants in the living room where she’s at. Then Calvin asks for the hose’s location for he stepped in dog doo. Then Mom blows a gasket.

If the place was closed why was the door not locked?

Well done Rodney - you know how to pick your fights.

Sign on the wall in the first panel: “THIS FRIDAY! DESPERATE SINGLES NIGHT!”
Rodney, if you try this on Friday night and win, you just might get more attention than you ever dreamed of having.

At least he didn’t say he could lick any man in the house.

With that nose, he can’t get close enough to lick anyone.

@ Rakkav - Even if he loses, he might get that attention.
