Suing someone for everything they have is the fastest way to turn them into a criminal. Does anyone really think you can take someone away from someone they have worked their whole lives for and they are just going to continue the status quo and start over?
Every convict I have ever interviewed who used to be successful started their life of crime because of this. there are however plenty of criminals who never even got successful in the first place, they are the dumb ones…the ones who were successful are much harder to catch.
These lawyers turn into politicians and selectively enforce laws that suit their ends (and those who finance them). Everybody knows that but still votes for them anyway.
“Shirley, you can’t be serious . . . getting sued turns you into a burglar?”
Some people yes, think of the 50-60 year old person that got sued, lost their house, everything they had, their retirement. They aren’t just going to lay down and die are they? they don’t have enough life in them to start over…especially if they feel it was stolen from them unjustly by the legal system, then why not break the laws? I am not speaking burglar specifically, just lawbreakers, could be fraud, shoplifting, or any number of other crimes. They think they have nothing else left to lose and if they get caught they might be in a better place.

Isn’t the pesant in panel three supposed to be the neighbor? Why does he look identical to the peasant in panel one?
