I happened to be part of a class-action suit against Chevrolet years ago (only because I owned a Chevy pickup at the time)—we were all issued a coupon good for $1000 off a brand new Chevy pickup to give to the local Chevy dealer and the millions in actual dollars went to the attorneys (of course). I had no plans to go into debt for a new truck, so, probably like most other members of the suit, I received nothing. In the news, though, all the thousands of 1,000 dollar vouchers were counted as part of the settlement, even though, for the most part, they in no way cost Chevrolet a dime.

Patsnozzle took part in a class action suit against a tuna company. He was expecting $50. We got a “nice” coupon instead. :)
