It’s a fact of life that not everyone in an office looks as if a professional dresser put together their outfit. Jay and Ed and Roy look like slobs, but no one complains. Bias? Men can dress any old way, but women are obligated to be hot?
I don’t know if it happens any more, but I remember at jobs I had years ago, women would sometimes come in a new dress or something, and other women, when commenting on it, would ask if she had made it herself. I guess every woman then was expected to be a seamstress. Yet never once did I see a man come in with a new suit, and have the other men ask “Did you make it yourself?”
@Scott I don’t know about those women, but it has been my experience that when a woman asks another woman “Did you make it yourself?” it means she’s being catty. It’s a put down. The attitude seems to be, nowadays, that if it’s isn’t designer, it isn’t good enough.

Nelle’s attire needs work. Unflattering dress length and shoes.
