I know the names of some sports figures. Not because I want to or care, but because you can’t live in this society without hearing them again and again. I often find I know certain things I don’t care about, while some people are so focused, they shut out absolutely everything that doesn’t impact directly upon their interests.
This is true, but it’s amazing how difficult it is to find people who I can talk to about both. I have one group of friends who only like sci fi and one group of friends who only like sports.

I’ve never heard anyone who was into sports called a “geek” before. It’s kind of refreshing.

Love Star Trek & Star Wars. Hardcore sports fan. Never thought the two were exclusive.
