The market is forward-looking. But I think it has more to do with the money the Fed is printing out of thin air needing to find a home than anything else, thus the disconnect between Wall Street and Main Street. The hangover from this manipulation is going to be truly impressive when it hits.
Rita has a point: Perception is everything. The price of oil, and of gas, fell precipitously once Dubya merely announced we were going to drill for oil. Before even a shovel had touched earth (whether above ground or below water), the price of gas dropped noticeably. And the way the leftist media have been wringing their hands since the Dems got their jackasses handed to them in November, seems they’re getting the whine machines cranked up even before the Republicans take over Congress. So once bills start coming out of Congress for the president to sign, it’ll be Obama who is the obstructionist. Harry Reid won’t be there to cover for him anymore and keep the Senate bottled up.

Sadly in today’s politics opinions are treated as facts and facts as opinions. (This comes from both sides…)

As Harry Nilsson said: “You see what you want to see, and you hear what you want to hear.” If that doesn’t sum up politics, then what does?

Funny thing is, the stock market has done better under the Democrats in the last 40 years. Most Republicans don’t know this, however.

I quote that one a lot too. Same message, but lost on too many. Like Rita.
