Thank you to all the men and women that lost their lives protecting ours. Thank you for being brave enough to face danger to protect our way of life. Thank you for giving your life so that we may live ours. I pray this day finds all Americans being proud of who we have lost and try to live up to their memories. I miss you, Daddy.

A fitting tribute. Thanks guys. Now if we could just quit trying to fix Afghanistan and bring our soldiers home safely before we lose any more!

Let us remember those who go in harm’s way that we may enjoy this day.

And let us hold them in your hearts and minds with such love and respect that we endeavor to stop making veterans and dead young men.

Many people mix up Veteran’s and Memorial Days. Perhaps we make too fine a distinction.

The biggest thrill I have is when people walk up to my retired Marine husband and thank him for his service, such a far cry from when he returned from Vietnam in the mid-60s. Today he remembers those he served with in Vietnam and still mourns those friends who didn’t return.

I see they have baked beans (Boston Bean Pot) on the table.

Sadly, it often seems that the people that gave their all did it for the people that forget them…

Too many wars that aren’t called wars, wars of choice, wars for a few over the many. And the ones who bear the brunt are the few who are in uniform. That is a big problem. For the giant war technology corporations continuing war means replacements and new ones to replace the older designs even if no other country is close to their developments. Now only China really has a chance of countering some of the US weapons. Maybe, but the corporations like G.E., Raytheon, Boeing will have more reason to get more war payments from our govt.

As long as war is big business we will continue to have them stretching for decades on end. At least until the AGW makes it impossible to do anymore.

Thank you gentlemen, well done. And thank you to those who paid the ultimate price for us.

Thank you, I owe you my life, my liberty, and my happiness. It is a debt that can never be repaid but is acknowledged each and every time.
