Not that far off from real life. I was hardly top of the food chain, but I wasn’t a bottom feeder either. The higher ups who decided who was to get axed, handed me the list and a script to memorize and recite. As I did the deed, they all hid in their offices. I did it once, mainly because I wasn’t prepared to refuse. Several years later they called on me for a repeat. I handed the list back to them and told them to put my name on it. I have no regrets.
