When I was a kiddywink, it was still 8×10″ sheets, a view camera with a hood, and a bulb shutter. (We had a Kodak Junior 616 at home, and a Six-16 Brownie Special, but they were for snaps, not portraits.)

Not true. With film cameras you have to wait until you get the film developed before you see the crap you took. THEN you swear.
