Some today are working to re-write history. Some are trying to erase history that doesn’t fit with their current agenda. Some are interweaving fiction with fact. Some seem to put a systemic spin on everything.
On the contrary. Every day, we’re uncovering the things previous generations have been trying to hide or pretend didn’t exist. It’s exciting, and in our current political climate, dangerous work.
I only get as excitable at that fellow when I see idiot humans making the same bone-headed mistakes as their ancestors. They don’t seem to ever learn! Makes me want to scream and throw things! It didn’t work the twenty other times they did that dumb thing, Why would they think it would work the twenty-first time?
As Twain remarked, “History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes”. The issue I’ve always had is WHICH lesson is the correct one in a given event and in a given moment? Often, the “real” lesson doesn’t become clear until well after the event concludes. Some “lessons” seemingly are clear cut, others not so much. We tend to apply the ones we want to fit our preconceived narratives. I try to notice the “rhymes”.

“Nothing ever happens?” You need to go back and really read the books because you’re missing “everything!”

That’s because the people are idiots and never learn. Like the Demonrats want socialism. Give me a break!

Actually we learn new things about history all the time and it changes our understanding. For instance, things get declassified.

History is a 23 volume book collection with the same 3 pages with different names, dates, and locations.

This explains why we have so many individuals promoting “revisionist” history.
