Bought a tiny, cheap, very run-down house in a good location. After I signed papers to buy, the previous owner told me he was happy to get rid of the dump. You can buy a castle in Spain (or is it Italy?) for €1. But to close the deal you have to prove you have several million euros ready to fix it up.

This is why so many historical estates in the UK have to host public tours to pay for the upkeep.

…and how long has it been since they dredged the moat? It smells like it is overflowing with sewage, and needs to be dredged.
