there are some companies and people who recycle and reuse plastic waste. one turns plastic waste to railroad ties, landscaping borders, and soundproofing material.
Like the newspaper, plastic can be recycled and used over again in many different forms. I don’t know where this Cartoonist lives. It must be some primative place.
I spent the last week in the hospital, was discharged yesterday, and came back ready to shake a fist at Deering again because I expected more anti-environmental tripe after Carl’s grocery trip… but this is a more nuanced perspective than I anticipated. Just because one hasn’t agreed with a cartoonist in the past doesn’t mean that one will continue to disagree, I guess. There are certainly some good “points” scored on the other side: too many environmentalists are focused on easy points rather than hard, necessary solutions… but I apologize to Deering for assuming the outcome of the strips.

our city has recycling pick up daily, plastics, paper, tin cans, styrofoam, cardboard.
