@BC13 re Aug 20th answer i have the same DVD in my collection. i also memorized the entire “Class Clown” album when it first came out, and can still recite large sections of it on the (extremely) rare occasions that it seems appropriate.

yyyguy I remember class clown. If I remember correctly, it’s got the the 7 words you can’t say on TV among others. I gotta get that album.

And there are no plans to make the hole in the ground the foundation for something interesting like a new store?

so uh … how are they making the hole? with a BIG BOOM?! If so, Ziggy probably shouldn’t be standing there looking at the sign … especially if someone starts to yell “FIRE IN THE HOLE! FIRE IN THE HOLE! FIRE IN THE HOLE!” then he best run like the dickens, and hope he’s seen before they hit the trigger.

@BC13: Class Clown does have the original version of “7 Words” as well as a lot of stuff about growing up in a Catholic school system which really resonated with me. It also has his take on “America the Beautiful” as a song with an ecological theme. For those who don’t care, skip my next post, please.

Oh beautiful, for smoggy skies, Insectisided grain. For strip mined mountains majesty Above the asphalt plain. America, America, Man sheds his waste on thee. And hides the pines with billboard signs From sea to oily sea.

Having seen a lot of new stores, I’d say leaving it as a hole in the ground would probably be a big improvement.

THE Big Hole is in Kimberley, South Africa. That is the name given to the original open-pit diamond mine. As a child I used to look down at it from the chain link fence at street level.
