Do you know how many people get stuck in and die on escalators? With Ziggy’s luck, he’s wise to be wary, especially sice a bunch af creeps forced him to unnaturally wear pants!
On SOME escalators the handrail does travel at the wrong speed but it just means it needs adjustment. Actually I like them. I can see how far I can stretch before I have to let go and readjust myself.
A long time ago in Austria a policeman threatened me for running up the down escalator. No sense of humor.
Actually, there is a lot more sense being nervous about escalators than being nervous of flying. Flying is relatively safe, but if you are not good at coordinating your steps with the speed of the moving tread, if you are infirm or handicapped, escalators are not a very safe means of transportation. When I was able-bodied, I used to walk up down escalators for fun. After losing a leg, I avoid escalators like the plague! Ziggy doesn’t have that excuse, but look at the length of his legs.

The sign says to hold the hand railing, but the railing is never cleaned & that makes me afeared…

Ever noticed the hand rails move just a tiny bit faster than the steps? Or is this in my head?
I just wish more people understood simple etiquette - the left side’s for walking, the right’s for standing.

I had an escalator eat my toes once when I was a kid and since then I’ve been hesitant with them.

People don’t even follow that etiquette on the highway. I wouldn’t expect them to follow it on an escalator either

Well, it depends on where you live. In Asia the left side for standing and the the right one for walking.

the terror of escalator travel is the fear of being stranded on one in the event of power failure

Clothes do protect the wearer but they also have a nasty reputation of getting caught on machinery and pulling the wearer in.

Where do you live that you have Escalators wide enough for some people to be standing & some to be walking?
