I can still get the time on the phone, from the same automated voice lady as they had 40 years ago. For ours, you dial SPR-INGS. Listening to the ad is annoying, but it gives the exact real time, which is one minute faster than what appears on the telephone screen, and one minute off the other way from what the TV Guide channel says.
Our automated voice lady isn’t condescending like Ziggy’s is.
