Copyright is out of control. It should be limited and regulated like patents, not a method and means of making money without working or adding real value to your life. Too many people think that if their grandfather wrote a book they should be able to live off the royalties, too many companies use copyright to create a forever long means of exploiting movies or songs they “own” so executives can make six digits while the people actually working consider food stamps.

First, there are no copyright issues with private use; commercial use is where copyright applies.Second, I find it more than a little hypocritical, given that the author of this strip inherited it from his father, and the strip itself is copyrighted (very fine print lettering up the left edge of the panel, from this perspective).Even though this is a GoComics webpage, it has © Ziggy and Friends, Inc. – All Rights Reserved. And the strip is about copyright abuse?? Get real.

5 years ago I purchased a DVD of “Petticoat Junction”

It was a collection of the earlier black and white episodes.I loaded it up in the player, started watching it, and realized all the original theme song and music on the soundtrack had been replaced due to copyright issues..Very disappointed.

So no one will mind if this is posted to Facebook and Google+?
