OK, but while we’re studying history, let’s not overlook that Lincoln initially was against freeing the slaves but eventually came around to the opposite view. David Duke initially was a Democrat but in most of his campaigns ran as a Republican. White Southern “Dixiecrats” distanced themselves from the rest of the Democratic party, and it was Democrat Lyndon Johnson who pushed Congress to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Yes, anybody can be a racist, but let’s not cherry pick facts.
