How about adding about 10 hours to every day? or creating a pill we can take to need NO sleep?

Macushlalondra, that was done. unfortunately, they found out it’s highly addictive and deadly! (“Speed kills,” isn’t just about car crashes.)

There were a few options to that magic wand, Macush. The Rolling Stones even wrote a song about one of them.

a “Hitachi Magic Wand” might get your wife out of your hair, but you’d be arrested if you tried that with children.

Re: my comment about a pill where you need no sleep, I was thinking of the science fiction story I’ve been wanting to write for years. It wouldn’t have to be a pill, it could be an injection but after you take it you really need no sleep. It doesn’t make you hyped up and crazy, just not tired so you stay awake and don’t need to sleep. Stores would be open 24 hours all of them, so that would help the economy and everyone would get a lot done because they wouldn’t be “wasting” 8 hours a day sleeping. You’d still keep your bed and bedroom though, the bed is good for other uses lol!

@ Macushlalondra: try reading the Evan Tanner novels by Lawrence Block (if I remember correctly). Tanner is a man who had the sleep center of his brain destroyed while he was a soldier in Korea (the series was written in the 1960’s) and hence does not sleep. Block started with the basic premise of “what would or could you do if you no longer needed to sleep?” a bit dated, but i found them interesting enough.

In LOVE to sleep. I can sleep for 12 hours, no problem, lol. It’s waking up I don’t like.

I was going with yyyguy’s take on Macush’s idea.
