    Stone is misleading – it’s actually a crystal formation with lots of sharp edges. Have a look at the picture on Wikipedia.And just why does the ureter have to have so many nerve endings in it anyway?

    I can attest to the pain; having passed a 2.5 mm stone four years ago. An ambulance ride and two hours in the ER. It is said to be the closest a man can come to birthing pain: believe it!! :-][
