Doctor; The tests said your stone is not abnormally large. If you drink lots of water it should pass quickly. Adam; Break it to me, doc. What size is it? Grapefruit? Watermelon? Doctor; Oh no, somewhere between a small pebble and a grain of sand. Adam; Doc. Don't spare me. I can take the truth. Doctor; Apparently not.

I like the doctor’s sense of humour.

Better hearing a joke then asking about next of kin.

Stone is misleading – it’s actually a crystal formation with lots of sharp edges. Have a look at the picture on Wikipedia. And just why does the ureter have to have so many nerve endings in it anyway?

Yes, so sensative a track with such a horrible little object. My guess is Brian or Rob has one and thus the profound insight into the pain of it all ;-)

I can attest to the pain; having passed a 2.5 mm stone four years ago. An ambulance ride and two hours in the ER. It is said to be the closest a man can come to birthing pain: believe it!! :-][

Clearly, he needs to cut back on the coffee and do what the doctor advises since it isn’t that big.

If you work at a desk, one good way to drink plenty of water is to keep cold water at your desk.
