Katy; Thanks for a great party, daddy. Adam; You're welcome, honey. I'm so proud of you. Katy; Proud of me? Why? Adam; You're a smart funny and kind little girl. Adam; Now, would you help me clean up? Katy; Sure! Katy; Was I just set up?
Heaven forbid today’s parents actually ask their kids to do something to help out. When I was Katy’s age I would have been thrilled for a party and happy to help clean up after what my parents did for me. Your comment is just another example of how our child-centric culture creates dependent, entitled adults.
