Katy: Wow. That comic was awesome. Adam: Right? Katy: I mean, look at that expression. Claaassic. I can't stop giggling. I want to be a cartoonist. Adam: That'd be cool! Katy: Would I have to wear a beret? Adam: ONly if you work for the New Yorker?
Humorist David Burge postulates that every New Yorker cartoon can be improved if one replaces the humorous line with, “I’m going to kill myself.” After sampling a few, I think he is correct so long as one omits the classic Thurber cartoons.
