Whenever I finally get through to a real, live human, I always ask if they are hiring, because they are obviously in need of a good switchboard operator.
Do companies even CARE if they are driving their customers nuts?
Luckily for me, the company I retired from refused to set up one of those phone trees. The accounting office staff ALL answered incoming calls and directed them accordingly. Our clients LOVED this!
As for Adam……………..at least the call was in English!

There are currently 1,836 callers ahead of you. Good luck waiting”-“Many of your questions can be answered at our web site www.ourwebsiteisasmessedupasourphonetree.com”-“Call center hours are from 9am to 5pm India Standard Time. We like to be home with our families at night, too.”-“For complaints about a product or service, please press 1 so that we can “accidentally” disconnect you"-“Your phone call may be recorded because some of the things people say are really dumb and this job is so boring we can use a good laugh”
Did anybody else notice that when Adam had to give a four digit number, the two sevens were written differently? The second one has a cross-bar, the first doesn’t.
When are they going to understand… the only reason I bother with a 1800 # is because I want to speak to a live person. .. and sometimes I break down and get a little snarky ..what makes you think I have access to a computer? And what make you think my employer permits access to your website during work hours? (actually, my employer blocks 100% of all social media sites from our on site computers.)I discovered www.gethuman.com several years ago and submitted to our local webmaster. It’s link has been on our company’s national search link page ever since.
