Laura: Here's a candle. Let's hope the lights come back on soon. Is everyone okay? Katy: It's kind of spooky, but I'm okay. Adam: Aaaaa!! Something hairy just brushed my leg!! False alarm. It was one of my bear claw slippers. Laura: Not helping. Katy: It's okay. The fear is keeping the hypothermia at bay.
A gas furnace requires electricity to run the blower. But the stove can still be lit with a match. I used to keep my babies and “critters” warm with the fireplace. I don’t know how people survived winters using only wood to keep warm, cook and have light! It takes a lot of wood.
