We used to have a sign at the counter, no cell phones. The main reason was because when dealing with money, you need them to pay attention. Really didn’t work and caused many arguments about money and use of cell phones. Not to mention that it is very rude to the cashier.

Only reason I use my phone at checkout is to scan the loyalty card on Stocard. Or if I’m paying with Afterpay
