We used to get out on June third, every year. I turned my pilot light off in April. Getting it re-lit in September was impossibly difficult. And the slightest breeze of disinterest or distraction blew it out.
Agnes is so right! Last week of school – homework? Never heard of it? Tests? Is this when we try to figure out how long it takes to start burning a hole in the school’s back wooden stairs?.That last one takes one magnifying glass (hand held) and a sunny afternoon. Couple of minutes to start smoking. ….. A lot of back stairs (for fire escape routes) had a lot of kids names and initials burned into the risers and rails. .Yes. My first few elementary schools were wooden.

Trout hit it right yesterday—only two more walks of shame to the Principal. Here’s one, with a cold pilot light even. One more to go.

Knowing Agnes, she probably meant Carnival Pleasures.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Agnes quite this vehement.

My son said these last few days were only to see his girlfriend, all the tests are done. The teacher needs to stop penalizing Agnes for being honest.
