I love cranberry sauce, and drink a lot of cranberry juice… and yes, it’s sweetened.Unsweetened cranberry juice isn’t for sissies.
But merely being tart, and needing sugar for palatability, doesn’t make things bad or inedible. Most people don’t drink lemon juice without sugar…or for that matter, eat unsweetened lingonberries.
Lingonberries are incredibly expensive here in the Western US…. the only ones I ever see are in tiny jars of imported jelly or syrup.Cranberries are relatively cheap, and very good for you.I don’t like them where they don’t belong… please leave the dried ones out of my cookies and especially my salad, frevinsakes….
But it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving if there weren’t a bowl of cranberry sauce alongside the roast turk… er …. grackle.
