I had to google how Michelangelo died. Doesn’t mention hernia but that’s not to say it isn’t true (in Agnes’ head anyway).

Working in marble does present its challenges. Recently read a story a sculptor who managed to carve a figure on a rearing horse back in the mid-1800s. ’Twas a big deal because most such sculptures cracked and collapsed under their own weight.

Note that he died at age 88.
