I just lovethis cartoon. It is laugh out loud funny. Ah, the exuberance of youth and the prospects of a summer off to explore one’s world. Well said . Mr. Cochran. One’s hometown is where the heart is, Podunk or not.
“Porkers have invaded, are they green?”.Don’t eat the green meat; it’s alien!.Swine aren’t GREEN, too destructive to the environment..All that said, it was certainly fun to chase pigs in my earlier youth.Right up to the time I caught one and his piney-woods-rooter mama minded and tried to eat me.Actually, since I survived unbitten, that was fun too.

Actually used more than you might think. I grew up in one of those towns and have lived in the type most of my life.

“Podunk” would actually make a great name for a town.

You catch the pig, we’ll start digging the pit in the backyard and fire up the charcoal. Anyone got an apple?

In Norfolk, VA, some fully grown pigs once got loose in the tunnel across the Chesapeake Bay to Hampton. Caused a rather large back up.

For a while, I worked in the largest hog-producing county in our state. Heard endless stories about the intelligence and belligerence of pigs.
