That was a lot of the fun of our road-trips (my husband and me). We found some wacky attractions, beautiful parks, climbed lighthouses. Dropped in on relatives once in a great while, but mostly it was the two of us exploring. His health won’t allow it now, but the pictures and memories are great.
This Road Trip thing has got me wondering. Do people still take them once in awhile? Seems everyone I know just fly to wherever they want to go. Hope I’m wrong. Road trips are the best way of actually seeing other parts of our country and meeting people you would never would have if you just fly. My son fly’s a lot for business. All over the country and to other countries as well. When he wants time to himself he takes his motorcycle and just takes off for parts unknown. He says the best part is stopping in tiny little towns for a meal or a beer with the locals. Broadens your understanding of the diversity of our country IMHO.

Just tell them you didn’t think you’d have time; but, then you decided you really wanted to see them, so you made the time.

One of the nice things about taking a road trip without planning anything is that you can do stuff on the spur of the moment.
