The preferred staff person is the one sitting(nice comfy lap), filling the food dish, and being scratched behind the ear and/or nose being rubbed(just a little bit more to the left…).
We have two cats — Finnegan, in my profile pic, bonded with me right away after we adopted them, and snuggles almost exclusively with me. His sister Molly, a calico sassypants, chose my husband as her person, and cuddles almost exclusively with him. It worked out well for us!
My cat comes out of the bushes by the driveway and guides my car in. Then she makes sure I can locate the gate, the front door and the food bowls. She’s very thorough.
My ex was in seventh heaven when one of our cats would choose him over me. Not to be mean, just that he wanted at least one that would prefer him to me. Over our 22 years together he got the chance many times. Now he has one of his own and treats it like royalty.
