I am one of those people who cannot stand to be late, so am usually early which has the added advantage of allowing a trip to the bathroom before the whatever starts. Thankfully hubs is not an habitually late person but he is a just on time is good enough person. Over the years we have reached a working compromise and are usually early. ;-)
My husband! If we are not there half an hour early, he thinks we are late. I’m more a make a grand entrance type. We have compromised, also, and get there pretty much on time.
I am a lot like Amanda. I’m always worried about going to some function and not finding a place to sit. I am always asking my wife to hurry up so we can leave. It gets to the point where where she wants to smack me.

There are some people for whom start times are suggestions, and some for whom they’re commandments.

I prefer to be early. I like to pick out my own seat.
