Obviously you don’t have the anual January Thaw. A 10-14 day warm spell then back to winter, but not the deep freeze we just experienced.

I remember Moorhead snow all winter! No “sad brown”!

My lawn has reappeared. But I don’t care what happens now. I’m NOT mowing it until at least May.

Sounds like a blues artist: And now, up from Shreveport, give it up for Sad Brown Winter!!

Valentine’s day is too far away, but the candy is on the shelves. Probably marked for clearance by next week. Change the theme on the artificial Christmas tree to suit.

Don’t worry. You will get to do it all again next year. Just a few glorious sunny days in between.

Maybe you could draw some cool winter pictures and put them up on your windows. Then NEVER go outside for any reason unless there’s a fire or some other major catastrophe.

Make sure Dan doesn’t let out a peep about what’s REALLY going on out there weather wise, and get your groceries and supplies delivered to your porch so Dan can bring them in. When spring has finally sprung you should still keep the pics up because usually it’s still brown and gloomy for a few week.

It has snowed twice here this winter. Or, one and a half times, as the first snow was so light that I barely got to see it before it disappeared. I think we officially had a quarter inch. The second snow didn’t melt away until that nasty wind and rain storm last week. We had sad brown Christmas, and the forecast does not look promising for the sad brown to be covered up anytime soon.

Christmas is not over… until the 6th of January! There is still time.

Comforting thought: Every day of sad brown winter is a day closer to spring,

Sad brown is better than slushy dismal gray.
