Not being a cooking foodie, Iâm sure I wouldnât know the difference. Think my sugar says âGreat Valueâ or some national brand. Local sourcing is sort of lost on us culinary Philistines.
And on the other hand, midwestern sarcasm and self-insight together is rare indeed, a commodity I can appreciate.
In âthe valleyâ, even joking about using cane sugar makes you persona non grata. While it will vary from one coffee klatch to another, best to mind what seed cap you sport as well. But then, you probably have a selection to suit the occasion hanging on the back of a door.

Thatâs a call back to my youth. Sour Cream pie, at the time, the only way to make sour cream edible. The other gateway dessert was Tomato Soup cake.
