CRATCHIT: “I was wondering sir, after seven years, you’d be removing Mr. Marley’s name from the sign outside?”

SCROOGE: “No…time will erase it at no cost to us.”

SCROOGE (Version 2.0): “I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach.”

We didn’t put our tree away last year. The lights burned out spectacularly in August . . .

Waiting for February 2nd, Feast of the Presentation, to take down all Christmas decorations. Lent starts on March 5th this year!

I leave all decorations up for all seasons (except the Halloween Bat Garland I made- the cats took it down) up all year round. The reason they are up will return sooner or later.

We used to have a cafe in town that left the tree (artificial) and lights up all year a;d changed the decorations for each holiday. I don’t know how they stored it all, it was an 8’ tree and the decorations were lavish.

We kept the tree all year once, ennui won us over each day for so long, we gave in. Was. Wonderful. Feeling blah? Turn on the tree! Can’t help it…makes you smile.
