I’ve never enjoyed the “horror” genre. I get no thrill from the suspense or the imagery. Japanese monsters have the same effect. I DO, however, like Tim Burton’s gothic interpretations of fairy tales (which were originally darker than the Disney versions) especially if Helena Bonham Carter is playing a part.
Ok … Wipe Out is on now, and I can just see all you guys, Gweedo, Eldo, PCollie, Affi, Especially Number 6, Stagger Lee, John Pike, SandFan, etc…etc….drumming on your desks, drums, etc…and me and Bev and Susan Newman and Number 3, shimmying, and shaking and making you all crazy and hear the drumming getting harder and us all busting out laughing as we fall exhausted….
I may just sic the grammer police on my own self…sheesh…hope ya’ll understood the above…lol…oh well, its a great night with oldies and a great mystery…one of Lee Childs…Jack Reacher….Nothing to lose…he doesnt and neither do I!….he, he, heeeee……….
Hey, tomorrow’s the big day. Thanks again for all the kind words and thoughts. Miss Linda, my old band, in the 60’s, played a mean wipeout. And I really loved to watch those post-pubescent young things shimmy. And twerking is just a new name. Gotta get back up in 5 hours and the boredom hits. Later gaters.
ok, I have to admit…I thought todays strip was reflective of my post of a classic Andy saying “Sexy Aliens” or summat…with the Vicar pointing out that Aliens was spelled Alienz instead of Aliens…I thought they might actually be paying attention but then I realized they would be paying attention to Number 6 and Mikey J and Eldo rather than someone who luckily learned to post pics from Icanhazcheeseburger and similar sites…Our resident artists rock…I can name a bunch of tunes that do too, but they rock harder and make us all thankful that they do in fact rock! Thank you Mikey J for the Capp recap’s, Eldo the classics have your name on them, Number 6, if you dont find a publisher, I think I will call on the Almighty for an explanation! The classics are the eptiome of AC simple due to the artist. Thank you Reg. Your generation really was the greatest, as was your AC strip!
Went to Alley Oop and I am Ooooooped…so help me if you were 8 inches taller, you and Ron could be twins…such softness around the eyes, such an invitation to feel the feelings that are there…its easy to blow it up and view what is there, you make me think of the Viet Nam Vets charities and want to contribute…I have to say that our group is extremely gorgeous…we have seen most of us…Eldo Number 6 Gweedo and Night Gaunt, Affi, Myself (last Christmas with Santa) and Number 3…dang, we are a good looking group of mis – fits huh?!?…lol…
I love the vintage Andy Capps that some of you are posting. THANKS!!! (I wish I’d kept all my Andy Capp paperbacks from the 60s and 70s, but that’s another story.)
Another day of the official strip being lousy, but luckily the day was saved once more by classics, redos, and poster posts!@Stagger LeeHave you ever seen “Spamalot”? I saw a touring version of it, and I actually liked it better than the original movie. (I like both “Life of Brian” and “Meaning of Life” better than “Holy Grail” for some reason.) Has anybody here ever seen “It’s A Mad Mad Mad Mad World”? I watched it last night for the first time in years. It’s stuffed full with legendary comedians like Milton Berle, Sid Caesar, Jonathan Winters, Phil Silvers, and cameos from everybody from Jack Benny and Jerry Lewis to the Three Stooges!
