Which Elvis…Presley or Costello?

When I first read this strip in the early 70’s, Andy listened to WW2/music hall era songs. Now it’s early rock and roll. In a couple more decades, it’ll probably be MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice.

I’m sure many younger readers are wondering what an “Elvis” could be, let alone “jiving to records on a jukebox.” (They might well recognize the “to”, the “on” and the “a”, of course!) Andy is about to tell Flo: “Me pelvis needs me painkillers! Stout ale, stat!”

In honor of the upcoming football season.

@BuggerlugsYep, Howland is right, girls is always the same, they take the ball home! (Pogo is also right, that there’s always hope…..) I remember seeing this one somewhere or other. Yesterday’s beginning story arc was one I never ran across, though. I’d love to see more of that story arc!
