Andy would trade his self respect for a pint of ale

Considering the aperture, no Covid in the area yet.

Considering is too much like hard work.

Our lad, Andy, has a couple jobs. Keeping the bookies and breweries in business.

That bum never stays sober long enough to ply a trade.

Because it takes a lot of effort to avoid work…

It would take a few years for Andy to learn a trade. Then, he could work during the day and blow his dough drinking every night.

Andy has a trade as PM – Perpetual Moocher.

Out of all of those trades, I think I would pick Welder. And that’s probably because I’ve never done it.

I’m a retired plumber and at 58 when the company I worked for shut down I contacted many local trade shops and no one, not a single one, wanted to talk to a 58 YO tradesman.

65 years, and he’s never had or wanted a job. It seems that Andy Capp lives a Ground Hog week – the same 7 days, over and over.

There’s always beer brewing.

Trade? What’s Andy have to trade with someone? Excellence in canal-swimming?

Obviously Andy is given to exaggeration, because there is absolutely no way he ever considered getting a trade.

What is his incentive to work when he can just spend Flo’s money or mooch off of Chalkie for a pint of beer?

Hey, Affie.

I went to my favourite beach today (the one where I get the bus to) and had a lovely, relaxing time. I was just sitting there listening to the waves crashing and everything was lit up. There were colourful lights everywhere along the promenade. Luckily I was just in time to get the bus home as well otherwise I would have had to wait over half an hour. The bus services decrease after 6pm. But I’m not sure if that’s the case with all of them. I was just on time for the bus going to the beach too.

Some building work has started near me so I have to take a different route home because the nearby field is blocked off. But I’ll manage.

Literally the only job Andy would ever take is taster at the brewery.

As close to a trade, that Andy has been, is browsing at a swap meet.

actually, strangely enough, Andy does have at trade. As mentioned a couple of times in older strips, he’s a plasterer.

I had the best trade yet. Traded work for retirement at 59 yrs. old 10 yrs. ago. Best decision I ever made. You can make more money investing than you can working for someone else and making them rich.

LOL!!! At least he is honest!
