    Andy doesn’t seek trouble, but rather he’s natural troublemaker.

    @Number Three today’s strip IS funny , the way our HERO Mr Andrew Capp does not need any help to get into trouble is classic :o0, my avatar is a picture of my birth sign Leo roaring his head off because he’s in a good mood like I am , how was your day? ours should be a littttle hectic but we are both in a good mood and afterour shopping is done we have no errands to run , so we are staying inside the house and keep hydrated till this evening when the greengrocer van comes up our street keep safe and thanks for caring young Rowan Atkins afficionada

    Today’s strip reminds me of an episode of the 1954-5 TV show “Sherlock Holmes” which is currently being repeated on Channel 82 “Talking Pictures TV” here in the UK. The episode was called “The Shoeless Engineer” and was based on Conan Doyle’s story “The Engineer’s Thumb”. The episode began with Holmes and Watson walking in the countryside. Watson says in voice over narration, “I had finally persuaded Holmes to take a day off from investigating crimes to relax in the countryside. I was yet to learn that when Holmes didn’t look for trouble, trouble had a way of finding him.”

    This is true of many fictional detectives especially Charlie Chan and Hercule Poirot. One of Erle Derr Biggers’ Charlie Chan novels has a character saying, “When a postman takes a holiday, he still goes on long walks. When a detective takes a holiday, he still finds mysteries to solve.”

    @Afficionado

    Hey, Affie.

    I went to KFC today because I forgot all about it yesterday as I didn’t go out. Even though it’s cold and windy here today, I still wanted to get myself out. If I’m in the house for longer than 2/3 days, I get restless.

    Well it’s now been 16 days since I donated blood and still no word of where it’s gone. I believe it can take up to 25 days to get a text. That’s fine, I’m just impatient! I wonder if it’s taking longer because they took an extra sample to test my plasma? I believe if you phone the helpline they can find out why a donor didn’t receive a text. I know because somebody in a Facebook group I moderate (Blood Donors UK) never got a text and it turned out some bacteria had contaminated her blood on route and therefore had to be discarded.

    Fingers crossed. Even if I don’t get one, I’ll still book my next appointment for March.

    Stay safe, stay well, stay warm and stay happy, pal.
