The monster crab started as a standard one, but the Nazi sub’s exhaust of radioactive gases and such caused it to mutate and grow much bigger than any other.

“Yes! Got them onscreen! I suppose they’re not very pleased to see you down there with them!”
Panel 6: “I’ll say! Matter of fact, here they come now — just sniffing — don’t guess they’re going to ram me…”

“Got their shipmates up here in a lather as well! We certainly weren’t invited to this private soiree!”
“Hey! What are they doing? The Russians are moving too close to this crab…”
