Caption: "Protocol" Ruth happily asks, "So, Gene can come over?" Her mom, worried, exclaims, "Yes, yes!" At school, Ruth asks Gene at his locker, "Want to study at my house?" Gene replies, "Sure! I guess.." Later at home, Gene asks his mother, "May I please go t Ruth's house to study?" Ruth replies, "I suppose. Ask your father.." Gene exclaims to his dad, "I'm going to Ruth's house to study!" Arlo replies, "You can go to Saddam Hussein's house if you'll study."
He didn’t “ask”. He told Arlo he was going to her house to study.
