"Life is what happens while you're making other plans." You've probably heard John Lennon said that. Actually, it's attributed to Allen Saunders, a comic strip writer whose work included Mary Worth and Kerry Drake. Lucky so-and-so never had to be funny!
One great thing I’ve noticed about this strip: Sometimes Jimmy J takes a break from the pressure of having to be uproariously funny every day. I respect and like that; it means the strip can go on consistently for years and not fizzle out.
Just a little regular glimpse into the lives of A&J and Ludwig is just fine now and then; it’s real life.
