Arlo and Janis by Jimmy Johnson for March 30, 2013
Transcript:
Janis: Did you see that? He pushed that man from behind! Arlo: He fouled him on purpose! Arlo: If the guy misses his free throw, the other team could get the rebound. Arlo: If they can get back down court and score, they'd win! Janis: Well, that doesn't seem right!

Is the bouncing the ball, or the cheerleaders?

People only respected athletes because they knew nothing about them. There was no 24 hour news cycle, no internet, less media interest in salacious material, etc. Athletes are cut from the same cloth they always were, we just know them much better now.

For the benefit of the sharpshooters who often explain obscure Arlo and Janis strips (this one was pretty straightforward), I found the day’s Bizarro obscure till I looked at http://www.seattlepi.com/comics-and-games/fun/Bizarro/

Haven’t watched basketball since 1976, when they quit calling “traveling.”

They called travelling well into the 1980s, only never on Michael Jordan.

I have to agree w/Janis. I always thought that any foul within, say, the last two minutes should be treated as intentional, and after the shooter takes his shot(s), his team should get the ball back, not surrender it to the team that fouled him.

I came to the conclusion that women are more sane than men because they have little or no interest in watching commercial sports on TV.

Don’t worry about it, Janis. It never works.
