Arlo and Janis by Jimmy Johnson for March 08, 2016

Transcript:
Arlo: You're always on the phone these days, but you rarely talk!
Arlo: When we only had a land line you talked all the time!
Janis: What else could I do?
I like this, Janis is not one to get mired in the way things used to be. She has embraced the new technology and methods of staying in touch instead of demanding that Gene et al conform to an old fashioned way to do things.
Texting is great for contacting someone for a quick answer, but to carry on a conversation? It takes waaaay too long. I do not understand the fascination with a tested conversation. Janis, shouldn’t you be conversing with your spouse right there next to you vs. texting on the phone?
I love texting!! Now my husband can’t listen in on my conversations (with my sisters and sister in law) and quiz me about everything I talked about and misinterpret most of it.

Arlo, Arlo, I can’t believe you deliberately walked into a minefield.

I think she means when land lines were the only option, all you could do is talk. Now you can text,e-mail,browse,etc. No need to talk anymore.

Who did she talk to on the phone? She only has one friend, Robin, and she is fairly recent.
