I love it. It reminds me of a children’s story I wrote for my oldest daughter many, many years ago: The One Foot Island. It is about an island so small that the one and only resident can stand on it with only one foot at a time. And as the sole resident of this island this person takes on all the roles such a small island nation requires: fire brigade, police, mayor and so on. And to do so this person wears all the different hats for each role all on top of each other.
At the time, I told the story to a colleague of mine. Years later he told me that it is still one of his favorite stories and he tells it to his children. My now grown up daughter has quite some artistic talent. She did a beautiful little drawing to go with the story a few years ago. I am still hoping to publish it one day, with illustrations from by my daughter. I have several such stories that I would like to publish. Maybe in a few years, when I have a little more time, I will take the time to do that.
