Don’t worry, Lou Dobbs. Everyone assimilates eventually, in their own way, at their own rate, even Tia Carmen.

(How about arroz con turkey? Or a rice-stuffed turkey?)

Mole is supposed to be made with turkey. Never had it taht way. Turkeys are very rare in Mexico. Bacalao is what my family prepared for the holiday. Boy I miss that dish.

Um, CPT Obvious you are very off base with your observation.

Pearl, Bacalao is dried Norwegian cod prepped with potatoes and some other things. Quite salty, fishy and good. I don’t think you will find it in the US.

There is something rather obnoxious about a person speaking of themselves in the third person. Examples: JAD above, and Elmo (from Sesame Street).

And I believe most of us come here to enjoy this lovely comic strip, not for a lesson in Spanish vocabulary and grammar or the ingredients in certain Mexican dishes (unless specifically asked for, like with the Bacalao, which I shall AVOID, since I hate most fish).

I fumbled my way through a few semesters of Spanish in college, and you have yet to tell me something I didn’t already know, Joe, (hence the CPT Obvious nomenclature) so stop trying to “teach” us less-Spanish-then-thou types. It’s not working, and it is rather condescending.
